Don Mar
Every successful firm has an executive that is able to look ahead create a long term vision for success. Don has the ability to make connections with almost anyone and motivates people to get things done. He builds relationships through sincerity and trust. His passion is to create long lasting relationships and delivering value to the clients.
Don Mar is the founding Member of Marpac. Don graduated from the University of Washington’s Construction Management program in 1981. Since that time, he has worked in the construction industry in many capacities. His path began as a laborer and framer in the field. But Don found his calling in the office as estimator, project manager and ultimately as the chief executive of the firm.
Under Don’s direction, the company has grown and matured to become a well-respected member of the Western Washington construction community. Throughout it all, Don has proven his ability to survive and thrive in times of difficult challenges. Thinking outside of the box with creative solutions is a hallmark of Don’s leadership.
Today, Don is still active in the managing the business focusing on business development, preconstruction services, estimating and public relations.

Don has been an active, contributing member of the construction industry through the Association Builders and Contractors where he has served as a board member and volunteer. Don is dedicated to promoting diversity and opportunity in the construction industry and has mentored several minority-owned contractors. Don has also served on the board of directors for various non-profit organizations relating to low income housing and elderly care.
Time away from work is focused on family. Hobbies include meditation, cycling, skiing, fishing, martial arts, golf, travel and just enjoying each day.

Herman Setijono
Managing Member
Herman has been on the Boards of several non-profit organizations assisting with fund raising. Herman is active in the martial arts and currently teaches karate in Bellevue.
Herman graduated from the University of Washington with a dual degree in Architecture and Construction Management in 1981. He began working for Pacific Component Homes in 1981 drafting wall panel layouts for prefabricated buildings. By 1983 he was estimating and managing work. In 1995 he joined Marpac where his leadership, management skills, and dedication led to a share in the company’s ownership and designation as managing member.

Herman has successfully estimated and managed Marpac’s largest and most complex projects. He enjoys meeting new people and dealing with different personalities every project brings.
